Jump King is really a game that needs no introduction, so here is one of the tougher achievements I got.
Giant Leaps
Complete game with giant boots.
0.8% of players have this achievement
The description is pretty apt here, beat map 1 with the giant boots equipped. There's another achievement you can get a lot earlier for wearing cool shoes to the top, but this one is much different. Unlike the kicks you get from the merchant, the giant boots have an actual gameplay mechanic attached to them.
When you have the giant boots equipped you can no longer walk, as if you were stuck in deep snow near the top of the climb. This makes fine positioning extremely difficult and will often put you in less than optimal situations. Despite this the run wasn't actually frustrating in any way, actually it served as a pretty engaging challenge run.
My Greatest Achievement
While the first map is tough on a first playthrough, it quickly becomes extremely easy to breeze through after just a few more rounds. After doing so a few times for achievements I noticed that I was getting closer and closer to breaking a specific barrier
Lightning-Speed Jumper
Complete the game within 15 minutes.
2.8% of players have this achievement
I figured that since I already had a lot of practice and had whittled down a loop to about 30 minutes, shaving off the next 15 wouldn't be so bad.
Yeah, you can already see in the screenshot, but this took quite a few attempts. Funnily enough this was a total fluke, with my previous best being just over 20 minutes! Despite what the percentages say, I firmly believe that this achievement is significantly harder than giant leaps, only losing out because you have to play the second map and bring an item back to the first.
"the dlc is so much harder than the base game do NOT be fooled"
